The next meeting will be at The Colliers on Wed 2nd November (8.30pm).

It is with great sadness that the league reports the passing of one of our longest serving members, Ralph Jackson on 30th September. Ralph had played in the league from its very beginnings, and also previous leagues from which the Hollins Pool League was created. Despite suffering a sudden and debilitating illness, Ralph continued to play for his team, the Wheatsheaf ‘A’ up until only three weeks before his death, and will be greatly missed by his team mates and many friends within the league.

Unfortunately we were unable to tell everyone of the funeral details, though there was a very large and comforting turnout from league members nonetheless, which we know would have touched his wife Pat. Our thanks go to those that turned up, and also those who have since passed on their sympathies and condolences.

The Royal Oak were again absent from the June meeting, and will be dealt with as per league rules (Fine and points deduction) at the July meeting. Also absent, and ‘Yellow carded’ were Anglers ‘A’, Homeguard ‘B’ and Victoria. Thanks to Paul and Ashley Lambert for their patience in organising the meeting despite the absence of other committee members.

Knockout draws will be published shortly on here.

The next meeting will be held on July 6th at the Church Inn (8.30pm). All outstanding monies must be handed in along with fees at this meeting. Please remember to bring all winning result sheets.

May 12th 2011
The Royal Oak were the only non-attendees at the may meeting, and as such have been ‘Yellow Carded’ and will be dealt with as per League rules should they miss another meeting this season. The draw for the Team Knockout was made at the meeting, and is available to view on the Team Knockout page.

The Wheatsheaf Inn has kindly offered to sponsor the League for the season, in return for the rights to both the Team and Subsidiary Knockout Finals. The Committee and delegates feel this is a very fair offer and have accepted.

The next meeting will be held on June 1st at the Honeywell Arms (8.30pm). All Individual and Doubles entry forms must be handed in along with fees at this meeting.

Congratulations to The Colliers on winning the 2010/11 season, particularly as the competition was so strong this year from a number of other teams.

The Presentation Night will be held on Friday 18th March at The Home Guard Club, and will start at the earlier time of 8pm, finishing at Midnight. Live music and a top class comedian have been booked, and the night is expected to be as successful as previous Presentation Nights have been.

Please make the effort to attend, and feel free to bring along partners or friends whether they are League members or not. Can we also remind teams that it is customary to ask their pub’s landord or manager to donate a bottle etc. to the raffle in appreciation of the custom the League brings them.

It is hoped that we can start the new season in the early part of April, and all teams will be contacted with finalised details shortly.
